We are in the early stages of developing a Research and Knowledge Translation Program to better support the needs of our stakeholders and members (particularly visiting and residential hospices) and are looking for students to support some early Science Communication activities. Students will be able to identify and develop projects that align with their skills and interests and HPCO needs. A sample of potential project opportunities include:

  • Develop, implement and evaluation strategies to engage members and stakeholders in research knowledge uptake
  • Review HPCO’s existing communication channels and identify opportunities to enhance communication of research results relevant to our members
  • Develop templates and processes for HPCO to communicate research results
  • Identify research projects, articles, or findings relevant to our stakeholders/members and develop communication strategies and tactics specific to our target audience
  • Support the communication needs of our Community Research Collaborative Community of Practice

The student is expected to work with their assigned supervisor to scope out a project that can be planned and executed within their placement timeframe. The specific deliverables will vary based on the project, but generally, this will include:

  • Project management from project design to execution
  • Engagement with appropriate stakeholders
  • Meet with the supervisor on a regular basis
  • Communicate challenges and barriers to assigned supervisor and work collaboratively to identify solution
  • Deliver finalized project within the mutually agreed to timelines

Students are expected to have some graphic design skills and experience.
