Optimizing Shipping and Handling Costs for Axolotl Biosciences

The current shipping fees and packaging methods need a thorough analysis to identify potential areas for cost reduction. This project involves benchmarking Axolotl's practices against industry standards to uncover more cost-effective and efficient alternatives without compromising the integrity of the samples being shipped. The goal is to streamline the shipping process, reduce unnecessary expenses, and ensure that the packaging methods align with best practices in the industry. By optimizing these aspects, Axolotl Biosciences aims to maintain high-quality service while achieving significant cost savings.

Business development and lab process optimization

We are seeking up to two students for the winter term to join our team with a focus on business development and lab process optimization. The overall goal is to help design more efficient processes for our team! We will provide you with all of our processes and information needed to complete research, and will support your personal learning and development throughout the project. Before starting this project we will also give you a full overview of our company and the technology behind our products. Our team will be here to support you if you have any technical or business related questions. We are a remote-first team, using Slack to communicate and Zoom for meetings as necessary.

Business Content Specialist

We are seeking a creative student to help us update our master business plan as a content specialist. This will include combining existing documents such as financial plans, marketing plans, and operational plans, then stylizing the document to make it cohesive. We have a style guide which includes text colours, fonts, etc. but encourage creativity! The business plan should be updated for 2022 and include updated graphics to reflect the current data such as timelines and graphs. We ask that you use Google Docs to edit the document in accordance with out guidelines, and create additional content through any other programs you favour such as Canva.

Biotechnology Supply Chain Research

We want to develop and expand upon our existing shipping logistics to become more efficient and cost effective. To do this, we want to conduct research into the different global shipping methods, vendors, and strategies. After researching and developing potential options for bettering our logistics, we ask that you create a PowerPoint presentation for the team about your findings. Any additional information you wish to include can be added in an appendix. Citations can be provided in the slide footnotes. If you are not a fan of presentations, or prefer written reports, you may also write a research summary. This can be done on Word, with citations provided in a bibliography!
