We are ready to take our business to the next level. Presently we operate with a single revenue stream, but it’s time to grow!

TempToyBox is on the edge of sustainable business models the General Toronto Area, and we require some assistance to assess our customer landscape inside and outside of our current market. We want to learn more about customer’s expectations and behaviours in our current and/or new regions. It is important for us to stay up to date on industry standards to ensure that we research new locations fully and completely before choosing to enter. We have some ideas of where we would like to go but we need to make sure that we consider all available options before making a decision.

Our specific need is an outline of our industry’s expansion opportunities through a location analysis. This report should include an assessment of our current operating area and optimal location recommendation list.

To consider: which market segment align with our current one? Where are there buyers that we have yet to reach? What are the pros and cons to expanding our operations? What potential competitors exist in new locations? What legal protocol will need to be considered?

We would like this to be partnered with some primary data collection; surveys and research into our present and future consumer to gather insights into buying behaviours and expansion expectations. These should supplement the location recommendations.

We are exploring opportunities to expand revenue opportunities within our current market, as well as the possibility of expanding into additional markets.

Students involved in this project will learn:

* How to identify opportunities in a market.

* Identify key features and be involved in the development of a new product.

* Market and launch the new project.

The goal of this project is to do market research and help launch (marketing the product) the new product we are working on.

Mentorship

Immanuel Velasco (co-founder) has more than 15 years experience working in the Financial Services, Not for Profits, and has led Project Teams for Industry Leaders. Immanuel takes a keen interest in helping to develop those around him and works hard to be 'a great person that great people want to work with.'

  • Students will receive minimum 5-10 hours of direction and mentorship, including weekly 'scrums'.
  • The project has an overall 'Waterfall' approach, but the student will also be exposed to 'Agile' Methodologies that are used in most businesses today.
