Immanuel Velasco is a second generation immigrant who is building a local, eco-friendly, and affordable toy sharing business. We currently serve families and caregivers in Stouffville, ON and the surrounding area, but have an eye to expand to future locations.

As a parent of two young children, the inspiration for TempToyBox came after Christmas in 2018, as he tried to declutter so many unused toys. How could things that bring such joy, also bring so much waste? How could he reconcile the value of our children’s delight with a desire for sustainable living?

The answer was temptoybox.com: With a membership level that fits many needs, temptoybox.com allows clients to access our local, eco-friendly experience for toys and child related equipment.

Building out as part of the 'sharing economy', his dream is to find sustainable business model and reproduce in other areas- enabling clients to make local, eco-friendly choices that also help their pocketbook.

Eco-Friendly/Sustainable Business Model and Market Expansion Research

Presently we operate with a single revenue stream, but it’s time to grow! TempToyBox is on the edge of sustainable business models the General Toronto Area, and we require some assistance to assess our customer landscape inside and outside of our current market. We want to learn more about customer’s expectations and behaviours in our current and/or new regions. It is important for us to stay up to date on industry standards to ensure that we research new locations fully and completely before choosing to enter. We have some ideas of where we would like to go but we need to make sure that we consider all available options before making a decision. Our specific need is an outline of our industry’s expansion opportunities through a location analysis. This report should include an assessment of our current operating area and optimal location recommendation list. To consider: which market segment align with our current one? Where are there buyers that we have yet to reach? What are the pros and cons to expanding our operations? What potential competitors exist in new locations? What legal protocol will need to be considered? We would like this to be partnered with some primary data collection; surveys and research into our present and future consumer to gather insights into buying behaviours and expansion expectations. These should supplement the location recommendations.
